Taking Care of Number One: YOU!

What You Can Do For Your Self

How many of you have never really thought about what you do for yourself? In today’s world we are taught to do everything and be everything to everyone else. Religions press upon you to give and give and give and rarely are we to receive. The economy dictates that we must buy and buy and buy to keep ahead of our neighbors or be better than them. We are taught that our children come first and our husband’s needs are to be above our own. Many cultures do this. Back in the days that the man was the breadwinner of the family the wife put all of her needs and desires under his needs. He was the King of the house and he always came first. Some still live this way.

I have found that many others do and feel the same way. I am sure that many others that I don’t know have this problem as well.

Assessing Your Situation

Here is a problem solving technique. It will help you understand what is going on.

Sit down in a comfy chair. Dis-associate your self from the emotions that you have with the situation you are having. See the two of you in a living room battling it out.
Now take yourself out of that body and see yourself looking into that living room window. Watch what is going on. Listen to what each person is saying and how they are saying it. See what the other person is doing.
Remember or pull into your mind what you know about this other person and do the same for yourself.
Now see if you can see the situation for what it truly is. What are you supposed to be learning from this relationship?

What is Self Care?

Take care of your "self". What exactly does that mean?  It turns out that we weren't programmed to think of ourselves first before others. We are programmed to think of others first. When we think of doing something that we like we come up with things that please or do for others, not our selves. Taking care of someone else and making sure their needs are met, like a child, is NOT Self Care. We are taught that if we put our needs and desires first that we are being selfish. It seems that when we do Self Care we end up on some kind of guilt trip. I have long since told people who try to make me go on these to pack their own bags because I am not going.

Through counseling I have learned so much about how I relate and how I allow others to relate to me. Setting Boundaries and sticking to them and not allowing others to treat you a certain way just is not taught to girls as they grow up.

Self Always Comes First

Questions to ask yourself:

How have you taken care of your spiritual needs?

How did you take care of your self? I hardly ever had an answer to this one. I lost my "self" to my partner and never thought about me.
Ask yourself, What about ME?
What is it with the Self Care and what do I like. This is just metaphorical as I use ME, but it is you the reader and the one who is reading this to answer.

In the song, "I've Never Been To Me", in the video I believe that the singer speaks of a person whom is being abused in some way. Here are some of the words to that song for you to ponder.

Hey lady, you lady, cursing at your life
You're a discontented mother and a regimented wife
I've no doubt you dream about the things you'll never do
But, I wish someone had talked to me
Like I wanna talk to you.....

Please lady, please lady, don't just walk away
'Cause I have this need to tell you why I'm all alone today
I can see so much of me still living in your eyes
Won't you share a part of a weary heart that has lived million lies....

Hey lady......
I've been to paradise, (I've been to paradise)
But I've never been to me
Put No Other Gods Before Thee

So let’s get down to finding out about Self. I believe the first commandment in the 10 Commandments talks about the self. Let me explain. Jesus said that we are God because we create our circumstances and we are responsible for whatever we think about or do and it can be good things or bad things.

So the first commandment says that we shall have no other gods (as in other people whom are their own God) before you. Powerful statement, No Other Gods Before You. Take care of your SELF before you can take care of anyone else. You matter because it is you that created and are responsible for your own thoughts and deeds and you are soley responsible for what you also re-act to.

We must take care of our bodies and our minds and our souls before we can give to others. If we go to the extreme and we give too much to others then we are not following this and we do lose our own "self". We get sick and we get tired and a host of other symptoms, diseases and conditions occur in our bodies that reflect this. This is what sin is. It is not against others, it is against our "selves". This is why Self Care is so important.

Practice What You Preach

Your assignment is to do something just for you each day. Sounds easy enough doesn't it? Well with all that I have said in this article, it is not that easy. Careful to not be stuck in the mode of putting other Gods before you. Learn to set boundaries. Yes, it is hard but a healthy person has those in place and they do not let anyone step inside of them.

That is why I wrote this article. I want to give others ways to do Self Care and not feel guilty about doing them. It is our wellspring and will only flow if we let it. Keeping this down inside of you will only stagnant those waters that should flow from you. So lets see what we can do to aid in our stress relief and get us healthier.

Some Self Care Things The You Can Do

Some simple things that you can do for your own self care to bring some much needed stress relief:

Astrology, Anatomy and Your Health

The Zodiac and the Correlation to Human Anatomy

Astrology isn't all about horoscopes and the Zodiac as most people believe.  We are all connected with the earth and the universe through the constellation (signs of the Zodiac). Each Zodiac is associated with an animal and all are connected to a part of the human anatomy.

There are locations in the body which connect to and store our emotions and the like. These have been medically proven and are called NEUROPEPTIDES. Each neuropeptide will do different things to different parts of your body.  If you hold on to negativity for too long it will affect your body and ultimately your health.
Everyone has an Aura about them; this is a type of Energy Field. Every living thing has these, including the planets. When one has a weak spot in their aura this allows for lower frequencies to come into your aura and this is what causes diseases and illnesses. A cold or flu is but one example of these frequencies that will wreak havoc within your body. Once they are there they cause all kinds of types of to happen and they are not nice things. Pay attention, next time, to your thoughts and emotions when you happen to get sick.

Astrological Signs of the Zodiac

Here is the list of each zodiac sign, associated body parts and what emotions are held there.

ASTROLOGICAL SIGNS

Source: http://fuzzypictures.wordpress.com/
Aries
Aries is associated to the Ram and is linked to the head and Face.
The emotions stored here would be trauma such as headaches and being struck on the head. Pain in the back of the head can mean that you have a problem with forgiveness of yourself.  Pain or disability in your eyes tends to mean that you are not seeing things for what they are. Farsightedness and Nearsightedness corresponds to living in the moment and looking to the future and planning for such things.

Taurus
Taurus is associated with is the Bull and is linked to the Neck. Pain in this area that would also include the shoulders could mean money problems or security about money. It could also point to someone looking at their past and judging themselves for past mistakes and how it correlates to their present situation.

Gemini
Gemini is the twins and they are linked to the arms and they have no corresponding animal. When thinking of someone the phrase "Reach Out and Touch someone" should come to mind. If you are you having a problem reaching out to someone, check your thoughts and feelings on this.

Cancer
Cancer is associated with The Crab and is linked to the breast. If you look at the breast you’ll see it’s like the body of a crab. Cancer is directly connected to Leo.

Leo
The Mighty Lion is linked to the Heart.  Let you love shine! These things that affect your heart and lungs (within the breast) resonates everything about LOVE. Don't wallow in false ideas that nobody loves you. If you do and you cannot reach out and love someone you will have problems with your heart and your lungs. The very first thing that one should be taught is to love oneself. It is from this self-love that you must give love to get love and vice versa. Remember to let you love shine!

Virgo
Virgo is the Virgin and the body part is the bowels but is not connecter to an animal. Are you constantly “seeing” Red; do you let irritation and anger rule your world? Do you harbor unresolved conflict inside? All these things pertain to the bowels. This is where you store problems understanding what is going on in your surroundings. Let these feelings and emotions go. It is for you very being. Hepatitis "C and other diseases of the liver are thought to be a symptom of holding in your anger for many, many years.

Libra
Libra is linked to the Veins and this one has no animal counterpart but is the ruler of Balance.

Source: http://fuzzypictures.wordpress.com/

Scorpio
Scorpio rules over the genitalia and the animal is the scorpion. It is interesting to note that on the chart it says the body part is The Secrets.  There is a delicate balance with these in the man and in the woman. These also equate with the first and second chakras. Your self identity, creativity, sexuality are all affected by these.

Sagittarius
Sagittarius is linked to the thighs and its archetype is the Bowman. Emotions of traumatic experiences, moving on, jealousy and emotional pain are kept here. As the legs support the rest of your body, feeling a lack of support are also kept here.

Source: http://fuzzypictures.wordpress.com/

Capricorn/Capricornus
The Goat is the associated animal for Capricorn's and it rules the knees. The knees are where the emotions of negativity are stored. If you are stubborn or inflexible then you will have problems in this area of your body.  Negativity is low on the chakra and the knees. As the knees are in the lower portion of your body it is heaviest there.

Aquarius
Aquarius is the Waterman and is linked to the legs.

Pisces
Pisces is associated with the fish and is linked with the feet.

Frequencies - More Than A Radio

The Human Body has frequencies just as a radio does. Each body part has its own frequency. Illnesses and diseases also have frequencies and they affect our body’s rhythm. For instance here is a list of the body parts and their frequencies:
Brain Frequency Range 72-90 MHz
Normal Brain Frequency 72 MHz
The Body 62-78 MHz
From Neck down 60-68 MHz
Thyroid and Parathyroid glands are 62-68 MHz
Thymus Gland is 65-68 MHz
Heart is 67-70 MHz
Lungs are 58-65 MHz
Liver is 55-60 MHz
Pancreas is 60-80 MHz

Some diseases hold these frequencies:
Colds and Flu start at: 57-60 MHz
Most Diseases start at: 58 MHz
Candida (Yeast Infections) overgrowth starts at: 55 MHz
Receptive to Epstein Barr at: 52 MHz
Receptive to Cancer at: 42 MHz
Death begins at: 25 MHz

Foods that are in the High Frequency range include:
Organic Meats, Fish and Poultry. The less processing the better. For instance if you can go fishing for your fish that would be the best. The fresher the better.
Fruits and Nuts that grow on trees such as Apples, Oranges, Peaches, Cherries (sweet and tart), Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, Hazel Nuts and the like. Juicing your fruits is also an added bonus.
Vegetables that contain chlorophyll. Those would include Dark Green Leafy vegetables and these tend to alkalize the body as well. Other foods in this category would include: Brussel Sprouts and Broccoli

Heal Thyself

Most of the Masters which include Jesus and the Dali Lama have said for us the Heal Thyself. Jesus stated in the Bible that if you believe your sins would be forgiven. Though he made mention of this many times the method to do so was left out. The Dali Lama tells us to be mindful of our thoughts, just as Jesus did.
We were each given an individual body to take care of. We are supposed to now and experience life through our body. No one else has or knows our body like we do. What comes into the body does not defile it; it’s what comes out that does. We can watch things and they will not affect us until we put emotions and let those emotion-filled thoughts and actions out. What we think will also affect our health. Pay attention to your thoughts and deeds and emotions.

With this in mind there is another method that takes our thought to heal ourselves.  It is known as Bio Feedback. It is something that needs a lot of practice. There are several devices that can assist you.  Another s called focused meditation.  It requires that you pay attention to your own body vibrations and frequencies. For instance when you get upset you would pay attention to your body and feel what it is expressing to you. You can calm yourself and your body's vibrations by focusing on the act of calming yourself down.

There Is Such Thing As Being Allergic To Milk

Allergy to Cow's Milk

Today's Milk really is bad for you, or at least it is to some of us, causing Sebaceous Cysts and a host of many other diseases and conditions. I know this from personal experience. In doing the research on this for my own use I found out that it is the casein, growth hormones and anti-biotics in the milk that are the real culprits. The cows consume this from many sources which includes their feed, any pesticides etc. on the grass they eat to whatever is in the water.

Most people think that the body needs calcium and the only way to get it is through milk, This is a huge misconception. You can get calcium from a wide range of sources that include green vegetables, the highest in calcium is broccoli, to the calcium in hard water. It is estimated that about 500,000 to 12 million people have this on the US alone! The reason for the difference is that many do not speak about their cysts to anyone, even their best friends.

"One of the earliest documented estimates comes from Gregor Jemec. In the course of an androgen study conducted in 1988 in Copenhagen, Denmark, he found that "The prevalence of hidradenitis in the control group [of healthy women] was 4%."Today that would translate to 5.8 million women in the US."

Testimonials That Dairy Consumption Causes HS/Sebaceous Cysts

There is debate over what food will affect the HS and what does not. Naturally I cannot speak for others but my personal experience is that Sugar and Dairy products really cause me problems. I can almost guarantee a welt the next day if I munch on candy or a Carmel Mocha latte.
Others are not affected by these things. I think it is just about what stresses your body out the most. I am lactose intolerant so when I push myself and have something I know I shouldn't I always pay for it later.

Hope this helps ... Smiles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have heard of some studies that point to dairy as a culprit. "In one study of six individuals who obsessively avoided dairy they saw 90% improvement in their HS." Avoiding dairy can be hard, trust me I am trying. You even need to avoid the not so well known dairy products like whey. Dairy is inflammatory which is an enemy to us HS sufferers. Good luck! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would encourage you to get the dairy out of your diet.
The reason that you had asthma (totally related to celiac disease) & now HS is that your body is telling you that you are eating something that it does not like. Listen to your body & you can figure it out. Although the gluten grains wheat, rye, barley & oats are not good for most people,(60%) sometimes there are also other major food triggers. Dairy is one of the main ones, others are corn, eggs, nuts, & soy.

Dairy really does nothing for your bones. Ancient people never consumed dairy & they had perfect bones & teeth. what you need for good bone health is plenty of meat, fresh veggies, seafood & fruits, & nuts & seeds.
Eating kale & broccoli is excellent. Taking a vitamin D-3 supplement is crucial to good bone health & good health in general. Main stream medicine has finally caught on that 70% of children & most adults are low in vitamin D.

If a person was ever "allergic" to anything & is now eating it - you should start there for food elimination. If your mom is living, you can start by asking her what you could not tolerate as an infant & toddler... If you had celiac as a baby & the doc said that you "outgrew" it. That is not true. They used to think that you outgrew it, but just ask all the people now in their 40's & 50's that have suffered for years & then get diagnosed with celiac (if they are lucky) & then their mom says "oh yeah you had that as a baby, but you outgrew it".

Anyone that is interested in how your body works & the nutritional myths that have been perpetuated in the U.S. should read "Good Calories Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. It is a long book - divided in chapters - but well worth the read.
best wishes for a good day to everyone

Sebaceous Cysts

The Sebaceous Cysts that I speak about look like the picture on the right. These cysts form on many parts of the body. The most prevalent places are: behind the ears, on the cheeks right beside the nose, the underarms, under the breasts and in the groin area. They pop up in less than an hour without any notice and become very painful, very quickly.

There is a name for this disorder and it is: Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Many times it is mis-diagnosed because many physicians still do not know about this condition. Most times these cysts have been mis-diagnosed as: Folliculitis, Acne, Boils, Cysts (sebaceous, inclusion and subcutaneous), Furuncles, Carbuncles and Poor Hygiene
It is not: contagious, Herpes, STD, Cancer, Allergies (Many of us who have this condition know it is an allergy to Dairy--Testimonies on the right), Plague
It also sometimes coincides with these diseases: PCOS /Insulin Resistance / Androgen Dysfunction, Crohns and other inflammatory auto-immune conditions, Anemia, Hyperhydrosis / hyperhidrosis, Depression, Acne Vulgaris / Cystic / Conglobata, Pilonidal cysts
All dairy products, and any animal milk that is feed anti-biotics or that their surroundings have been treated with pesticides carry this in their bloodstream and we consume it in their milk. Many of the people that have HS and Sebaceous Cysts know it is caused by consumption of Cow’s. This is not mentioned in the study.  I know it is caused by consuming dairy products. Dairy is an inflammatory. I used to get these all the time and when I stopped consuming dairy my cysts went away and they haven't come back in years. There are support groups for this and one is in the link box below. It is there that you can read about how others noticed that dairy consumption plays a big part in causing this condition.

Allergy to Milk

On another article about allergy to Milk products someone commented that they couldn't believe that something in the bible would be that bad. We don't live in Biblical Times anymore!. When they consumed milk and other products made from Cow's back then there wasn't any anti-biotics or growth hormones to make the cows produce at astounding rates like they do today. People need to realize just what they are consuming.

I was under the impression that I was just Lactose Intolerant until I did many years of research after I stopped getting the cysts. I can tell you that the first sign of this allergy is heartburn and I mean very painful heartburn in which taking antacids don't cut it. Next I notice that my belly becomes full of gas and I get lots of pain with that and it makes me think that my belly is going to explode at any minute. Nothing I do will move this pain or the gas from my body and it lasts for hours and hours. Most people will get diarrhea, but I don't get that and it may be due to the fact that I have Ulcerative Colitis. My body was telling you not to consume it, yet most people have no idea what their body is telling them for all the medications they are on to make their bodies do what they want them to do. That is NOT a good thing.

"Dr. Frank Oski, the late Director of Pediatrics, John Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, wrote a book titled "Don't drink your milk!" This pioneering book written more than 25 years ago, described in detail, the diseases caused by taking cow's milk. These included leukemia, ear infections, nephritis, skin problems, diabetes, atherosclerosis, breast cancer, and auto immune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma. He also found that cow's milk caused gastrointestinal bleeding in babies leading to iron deficiency anemia.

Allergy to cow's milk is increasingly seen both in adults and children, due to the presence of pesticides and due to the widespread administration of antibiotics, animal residues, growth additives and hormones in the cow's feed. In contrast people who drink cow's milk and take milk products, taken from cows which graze naturally on grass in fields, have a much lower incidence of allergy to cow's milk. With safe inputs to the cow the output (milk) will also be safe."

If you suspect that you have HS or you think that you are allergic to milk the best thing that you can do for yourself is to stop consuming any animal dairy products for 4 weeks. You will know if it is that or not.
You can also see the effects of Cow's Milk on Infants and what products have cow's milk in them and where to get breast milk and other resources. Some have cow’s milk in them that Dr.'s are telling you that don't. Read the Labels yourself. I also have bolded the substances that are cow's milk there so you know what to look for.

ScienceDaily (Dec. 2, 2010) — Raw milk is consumed by an estimated 1-3 percent of the United States population. Raw milk and raw cheeses are responsible for almost 70 percent of reported dairy outbreaks. On July 16, 2008, the Connecticut Department of Public Health identified two unrelated children who had experienced hemolytic uremic syndrome after consuming raw milk from the same farm. The authors investigated the situation further and found more cases of people affected by raw milk from the same farm.

For Professionals
"Unfortunately, the treatments most commonly used today are the least effective and can be positively harmful. Incising a non-fluctuant boil is only going to make matters worse and should be avoided. Excising an acute inflammatory lesion and closing the resulting wound primarily is also wrong as there is a very high rate of, often immediate, recurrences in such cases (approximately 80% recurrences). (17, 18) When excision is performed, healing should be by secondary intention. Another frequent mistake is to prescribe penicillin or short courses of other antibiotics. Virtually every patient with at least moderately severe HS will testify to the fact that short courses of antibiotics on their own are unhelpful. What is worse is that many patients who are prescribed such treatments feel 'fobbed off' with less than useful medication and ultimately end up turning their backs on the medical profession. Such a step is crucial as many of these patients feel unable to confide their problems to anyone other than a general practitioner or specialist."
