Dairy In Non Dairy Baby Formula - What They Don't Tell You

An Allergy To Cow's Milk - Baby Formula

Many don't think that cow's milk allergen (Casein) is in baby formula.  It is in human breast milk too, but that is made for human babies unlike the other mammalian varieties. In this article I will list all the ingredients that the major brands, that claim that they do not contain, this allergen in.

Lactose Intolerance is different from an allergy to milk.
Symptoms of lactose intolerance include diarrhea, abdominal cramping, bloating, or gas about 30 minutes to two hours after drinking breast milk or eating dairy products, like cheese or yogurt, once they start solid foods. (Infants should not drink cow's milk until they are one year old.  Some lactose-intolerant individuals can consume small amounts of dairy without symptoms.

A milk allergy is an immune response. The symptoms can be similar, however. Abdominal pain or diarrhea after consuming milk products could be caused by a milk allergy or by lactose intolerance, for example.

If your infant develops a dry, itchy rash or itching and swelling of the face, lips, or mouth whenever he has dairy products — or symptoms such as hives, watery eyes, or a runny nose — he may be allergic to one of the proteins in cow's milk.

Read the labels on all foods you give to your Infant. You'll want to avoid dairy products and all other foods that contain lactose. Some seemingly dairy-free foods still contain milk products. These include: pancake and cookie mixes, breakfast cereals, instant potatoes and soups, margarine, salad dressings, breads, and lunch meats. Check food labels for ingredients such as; whey, curds, milk byproducts, dry milk solids, and nonfat dry milk powder and casein.

Thanks to recent legislation, products containing milk ingredients (or other common allergens) must be clearly labeled as such. This should make your task much easier.

There Is Such Thing As Being Allergic To Milk

Allergy to Cow's Milk

Today's Milk really is bad for you, or at least it is to some of us, causing Sebaceous Cysts and a host of many other diseases and conditions. I know this from personal experience. In doing the research on this for my own use I found out that it is the casein, growth hormones and anti-biotics in the milk that are the real culprits. The cows consume this from many sources which includes their feed, any pesticides etc. on the grass they eat to whatever is in the water.

Most people think that the body needs calcium and the only way to get it is through milk, This is a huge misconception. You can get calcium from a wide range of sources that include green vegetables, the highest in calcium is broccoli, to the calcium in hard water. It is estimated that about 500,000 to 12 million people have this on the US alone! The reason for the difference is that many do not speak about their cysts to anyone, even their best friends.

"One of the earliest documented estimates comes from Gregor Jemec. In the course of an androgen study conducted in 1988 in Copenhagen, Denmark, he found that "The prevalence of hidradenitis in the control group [of healthy women] was 4%."Today that would translate to 5.8 million women in the US."

Testimonials That Dairy Consumption Causes HS/Sebaceous Cysts

There is debate over what food will affect the HS and what does not. Naturally I cannot speak for others but my personal experience is that Sugar and Dairy products really cause me problems. I can almost guarantee a welt the next day if I munch on candy or a Carmel Mocha latte.
Others are not affected by these things. I think it is just about what stresses your body out the most. I am lactose intolerant so when I push myself and have something I know I shouldn't I always pay for it later.

Hope this helps ... Smiles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have heard of some studies that point to dairy as a culprit. "In one study of six individuals who obsessively avoided dairy they saw 90% improvement in their HS." Avoiding dairy can be hard, trust me I am trying. You even need to avoid the not so well known dairy products like whey. Dairy is inflammatory which is an enemy to us HS sufferers. Good luck! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would encourage you to get the dairy out of your diet.
The reason that you had asthma (totally related to celiac disease) & now HS is that your body is telling you that you are eating something that it does not like. Listen to your body & you can figure it out. Although the gluten grains wheat, rye, barley & oats are not good for most people,(60%) sometimes there are also other major food triggers. Dairy is one of the main ones, others are corn, eggs, nuts, & soy.

Dairy really does nothing for your bones. Ancient people never consumed dairy & they had perfect bones & teeth. what you need for good bone health is plenty of meat, fresh veggies, seafood & fruits, & nuts & seeds.
Eating kale & broccoli is excellent. Taking a vitamin D-3 supplement is crucial to good bone health & good health in general. Main stream medicine has finally caught on that 70% of children & most adults are low in vitamin D.

If a person was ever "allergic" to anything & is now eating it - you should start there for food elimination. If your mom is living, you can start by asking her what you could not tolerate as an infant & toddler... If you had celiac as a baby & the doc said that you "outgrew" it. That is not true. They used to think that you outgrew it, but just ask all the people now in their 40's & 50's that have suffered for years & then get diagnosed with celiac (if they are lucky) & then their mom says "oh yeah you had that as a baby, but you outgrew it".

Anyone that is interested in how your body works & the nutritional myths that have been perpetuated in the U.S. should read "Good Calories Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. It is a long book - divided in chapters - but well worth the read.
best wishes for a good day to everyone

Sebaceous Cysts

The Sebaceous Cysts that I speak about look like the picture on the right. These cysts form on many parts of the body. The most prevalent places are: behind the ears, on the cheeks right beside the nose, the underarms, under the breasts and in the groin area. They pop up in less than an hour without any notice and become very painful, very quickly.

There is a name for this disorder and it is: Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Many times it is mis-diagnosed because many physicians still do not know about this condition. Most times these cysts have been mis-diagnosed as: Folliculitis, Acne, Boils, Cysts (sebaceous, inclusion and subcutaneous), Furuncles, Carbuncles and Poor Hygiene
It is not: contagious, Herpes, STD, Cancer, Allergies (Many of us who have this condition know it is an allergy to Dairy--Testimonies on the right), Plague
It also sometimes coincides with these diseases: PCOS /Insulin Resistance / Androgen Dysfunction, Crohns and other inflammatory auto-immune conditions, Anemia, Hyperhydrosis / hyperhidrosis, Depression, Acne Vulgaris / Cystic / Conglobata, Pilonidal cysts
All dairy products, and any animal milk that is feed anti-biotics or that their surroundings have been treated with pesticides carry this in their bloodstream and we consume it in their milk. Many of the people that have HS and Sebaceous Cysts know it is caused by consumption of Cow’s. This is not mentioned in the study.  I know it is caused by consuming dairy products. Dairy is an inflammatory. I used to get these all the time and when I stopped consuming dairy my cysts went away and they haven't come back in years. There are support groups for this and one is in the link box below. It is there that you can read about how others noticed that dairy consumption plays a big part in causing this condition.

Allergy to Milk

On another article about allergy to Milk products someone commented that they couldn't believe that something in the bible would be that bad. We don't live in Biblical Times anymore!. When they consumed milk and other products made from Cow's back then there wasn't any anti-biotics or growth hormones to make the cows produce at astounding rates like they do today. People need to realize just what they are consuming.

I was under the impression that I was just Lactose Intolerant until I did many years of research after I stopped getting the cysts. I can tell you that the first sign of this allergy is heartburn and I mean very painful heartburn in which taking antacids don't cut it. Next I notice that my belly becomes full of gas and I get lots of pain with that and it makes me think that my belly is going to explode at any minute. Nothing I do will move this pain or the gas from my body and it lasts for hours and hours. Most people will get diarrhea, but I don't get that and it may be due to the fact that I have Ulcerative Colitis. My body was telling you not to consume it, yet most people have no idea what their body is telling them for all the medications they are on to make their bodies do what they want them to do. That is NOT a good thing.

"Dr. Frank Oski, the late Director of Pediatrics, John Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, wrote a book titled "Don't drink your milk!" This pioneering book written more than 25 years ago, described in detail, the diseases caused by taking cow's milk. These included leukemia, ear infections, nephritis, skin problems, diabetes, atherosclerosis, breast cancer, and auto immune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma. He also found that cow's milk caused gastrointestinal bleeding in babies leading to iron deficiency anemia.

Allergy to cow's milk is increasingly seen both in adults and children, due to the presence of pesticides and due to the widespread administration of antibiotics, animal residues, growth additives and hormones in the cow's feed. In contrast people who drink cow's milk and take milk products, taken from cows which graze naturally on grass in fields, have a much lower incidence of allergy to cow's milk. With safe inputs to the cow the output (milk) will also be safe."

If you suspect that you have HS or you think that you are allergic to milk the best thing that you can do for yourself is to stop consuming any animal dairy products for 4 weeks. You will know if it is that or not.
You can also see the effects of Cow's Milk on Infants and what products have cow's milk in them and where to get breast milk and other resources. Some have cow’s milk in them that Dr.'s are telling you that don't. Read the Labels yourself. I also have bolded the substances that are cow's milk there so you know what to look for.

ScienceDaily (Dec. 2, 2010) — Raw milk is consumed by an estimated 1-3 percent of the United States population. Raw milk and raw cheeses are responsible for almost 70 percent of reported dairy outbreaks. On July 16, 2008, the Connecticut Department of Public Health identified two unrelated children who had experienced hemolytic uremic syndrome after consuming raw milk from the same farm. The authors investigated the situation further and found more cases of people affected by raw milk from the same farm.

For Professionals
"Unfortunately, the treatments most commonly used today are the least effective and can be positively harmful. Incising a non-fluctuant boil is only going to make matters worse and should be avoided. Excising an acute inflammatory lesion and closing the resulting wound primarily is also wrong as there is a very high rate of, often immediate, recurrences in such cases (approximately 80% recurrences). (17, 18) When excision is performed, healing should be by secondary intention. Another frequent mistake is to prescribe penicillin or short courses of other antibiotics. Virtually every patient with at least moderately severe HS will testify to the fact that short courses of antibiotics on their own are unhelpful. What is worse is that many patients who are prescribed such treatments feel 'fobbed off' with less than useful medication and ultimately end up turning their backs on the medical profession. Such a step is crucial as many of these patients feel unable to confide their problems to anyone other than a general practitioner or specialist."
